T-Shirt Deconstruction: Crop Top!

Everyone has a t-shirt lying around that just doesn't present itself to be worn... ever. With just a pair of scissors, give that shirt a new life, at the beach perhaps, as a crop top!
(My shirt was an old, small boys' shirt that I used to rock back when I dressed like a boy... Oh, the memories.... =_=")

What You Need:
- Old T-Shirt
- Scissors
- Writing utensil (Optional)
- Sewing Machine/Needles & Thread/Pins (Optional)

How To Do It:
1) Start out by trying on your shirt and visualizing how you want it to look as an end result. Maybe mark up some lines. Take your shirt off (guuurl!) and lay it down on a flat surface.

2) Cut off the sleeves. And the collar, if you so wish.

Trim the sleeves and collar to your liking. I just went at it, but if you wish to be more precise, draw out some lines before you cut.

3) Now, on one side, cut straight up to the point where you want the shirt to be cropped. Don't get what I just said? No worries; observe the picture below:

This will allow you to tie up the two ends, creating an effortless, cropped shirt!

Now, voila! You're ready to rock yo' abs, baby! ;)
By the way, I just tugged at the edges of the shirt to give it that worn-in, distressed look. If you're looking for something sleeker, just hem the edges!

Ready to hit the beach! :D

P.S. Got scraps? Don't throw them away yet! Tutorial coming, to show you how to make do of those seemingly useless pieces of cloth!

Jeans/Pants into Shorts!

Do you have a pair of ugly pants that you never wear? Well, you can give them some new life by cutting them into shorts!

What You Need:
- A pair of jeans or pants
- Scissors
- A writing utensil, preferably chalk
- Sewing machine/Needle & Thread/Pins (Optional)
- Bling bling (Optional)

How To Do It:
1) Start out by trying on your pair of pants. Mark approximately the length you want them to be.

2) Fold the pants in half, "hotdog" style. Make sure the edges of the legs line up! Then, add about two inches to the line that you just marked, and cut. Better safe then sorry!

You will get shorts that look like this:

3) Try them on. If you're happy with the results, wonderful! You have just created a nice pair of shorts! :) However, if you're bored with the shape and/or find them dull, read on.

4) Create a diagonal line from the crotch up to the sides. Use the same technique as before; fold "hotdog" style (aligning the sides of the shorts) and cut!

Now they'll look somewhat like this:

There isn't too big of a difference to be seen in the picture, but you'll definitely see it when you try them on again!

5) Be creative! Distress the raw edges, add studs, make a hem, roll up the bottoms, bleach/dye your shorts, etc. In other words, make it your own! Enjoy your shorts! ^__^
